Philip Graham Ryken joins Matthew Barrett to discuss the many ways the theology and preaching of James Montgomery Boice influenced him, but also an entire generation. Knowing Boice as mentor, close friend, and brother in ministry, Ryken shares personal stories about the late James Montgomery Boice, including his genius in the pulpit as well as his fervor for the church.
Philip Graham Ryken serves as the eight president of Wheaton College. He is the author of more than 50 books, including The Message of Salvation (Intervarsity, 2001), The Doctrines of Grace (Crossway, 2009), and several expository commentaries. He serves as a board member of the Council of Christian College and Universities, The Gospel Coalition, the Lusanne Movement, and the National Association of Evangelicals.
Matthew Barrett is the author of Simply Trinity: The Unmanipulated Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Baker). He is the founder and executive editor of Credo Magazine and host of the Credo podcast. He is associate professor of Christian theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Director of the Center for Classical Theology. He is currently writing a Systematic Theology (Baker Academic).
