Reformation Commentary on Scripture

I am very excited to read the upcoming volumes in the new Reformation Commentary on Scripture, by InterVarsity Press. Timothy George is the general editor and Scott Manetsch the associate general editor. The series is projected to be 28 volumes (13 on the OT and 15 on the NT.) Already the first volume, edited by Gerald Bray, has been published on  Galatians, Ephesians. You can download a sample PDF here. Make sure to check out the interview Credo did with Bray here. Also read Timothy George’s introductory companion volume, Reading Scripture with the Reformers, as well as the interview Credo conducted with George in the October issue, “The Living Word.” George says the following,

“The biblical revolution of the sixteenth century was an explosive event that shook the foundations of the church and called all Christians ad fontes—back to the sources! The Reformation Commentary on Scripture brings many of these sources, some for the first time, into the hands of today’s preachers and laity. My prayer is that this new series will encourage a fresh engagement with the primary sources of the Christian faith, and that this will result in the kind of God-centered Reformation that shook the world of Luther and Calvin.”

If you sign up for IVP’s subscription service for this series, you can get the Timothy George book for free, the Bray volume for 80% off, and the rest of the volumes for 40% off as they become available. Wow, this is a good deal!
