Credo’s Cache

Each week we will be highlighting important resources. Check back each Friday to see what we have dug up for you. From this week’s cache:

1. Top 10 Books on the Bible’s Authority: By Michael Kruger – Dr. Kruger lists a compilation of the best books on the authority of the Bible in this post. This is definitely a worthwhile read.

2. Riot Evangelism: By Mark Driscoll – Driscoll says:”We live in a culture that is increasingly hostile towards Christianity. We need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. As we obey the Scriptures, repent of sin, and walk in humility, we will learn to trust the Spirit. Talking about Jesus may never feel safe and easy, but speak up and the courage will come by faith.”

3. How to Get Real, Honest Community: By Bob Thune and Will Walker – Thune and Walker notes: “A community where the truth of the gospel is deeply believed, reflected on, and talked about will be a community of healthy, transformative honesty. It will be a community where people increasingly find their identity in Christ and not in the approval of others; a community where self-righteousness gives way to faith-righteousness; a community where people are loved as they really are, but loved too much to let them stay that way.”

4. It’s Time to Celebrate: By Jonathan Parnell – Parnell notes: “The good news of Jesus, simultaneous to our sufferings, and often through them, is penetrating the darkest darkness all over this world. There is no depth his love cannot reach and no power that can stay his hand. Jesus is building his church. Whatever circumstances we find ourselves in, this is cause to rejoice.”

5. What Sparks a Movement?: By Alvin Reid – Reid notes: “When we become followers of Christ, we become a part of that global movement. When Jesus walked the earth He did not go after the cultural elites of His time. He called the outcasts and the ordinary. Folks like you and I are the kind of people He uses to articulate the movement He calls us to advance.’
