Master’s Seminary Message: Remain Faithful to the Holy and Sufficient Word of God (Matthew Barrett)
This past fall I had a great time preaching at The Master’s Seminary chapel. I was so encouraged by the men preparing for ministry there. If you are one of them, thank you for your warm welcome.
As I’ve mentioned recently, as part of the 5 Solas Series, I am finishing a book (almost done!) for Zondervan called, God’s Word Alone: The Authority of Scripture. I think I have spent more time on this book than any other I have written so far as the importance of the subject in light of today’s critics has weighed on me significantly. This chapel message at TMS built off of just a small slice of the book. The message I gave was called, “Remain Faithful to the Holy and Sufficient Word of God,” from 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Here is the video below (the message starts around 2:30). In my mind, 25:25 forward touches on what I perceive to be one of the most significant problems with the evangelical church today when it comes to the sufficiency of Scripture. I hope it can be helpful to you, whether you are a lay person or one preparing for ministry.
