Credo’s Cache

Each week we will be highlighting important resources. Check back each Friday to see what we have dug up for you. From this week’s cache:

1. Five Marks of Contentment: Erik Raymond – Raymond says, “Resting in God’s providence does not mean that we stand still. Contentment does not mean complacency. However, when have something we to pursue but God has not made it available a contented spirit does not rush ahead anyway. A discontented spirit will not wait.”

2. The Righteousness Ladder: Steve Bricker – Bricker notes, “Most Christians, at some point in life, will stop and wonder whether or not they believe enough or have faith strong enough. What brings this doubt?”

3. Abiding Beats Busywork: Eric Turner – Turner says, “Friend, if you are sacrificing the pleasure of sitting at the feet of Jesus on the altar of sermon preparation or seminary classes, may I exhort you to stop. Trust me, it will not work.”

4. Why Christians Love Diversity: John Piper – Piper says, “It’s a humbling thing to discover that God does not choose our people group because of any distinctives of worth but rather that we might double our joy in him by being a means of bringing all the other groups into the same joy.”

5. Four Warnings for Your Twenties: Marshall Segal – Segal notes, “How far do you get into the Old Testament when you start to feel the friction of daily Bible reading? We know the resistance is good for us, like we feel when we exercise, but we often don’t enjoy it — like when we exercise. For many, it’s simply harder to wake up for Numbers in March than for Genesis in January. The days can begin to feel like a season in the wilderness.”
