Is the Doctrine of Imputation Taught in Scripture?

Is the doctrine of imputation taught in Scripture? How does priesthood in the Old Testament support the concept of imputation? How does Jesus’ role as the Last Adam help us understand the active obedience of Christ? Does the doctrine of imputation have practical importance for the ordinary Christian life?
