Introducing The Biblical Theology Podcast

We’re excited to announce a brand-new Credo initiative called The Biblical Theology Podcast!

My name is Sam Bierig and I am delighted to serve as the host of the podcast at Credo. As Dean of Spurgeon College and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies, my driving passion is seeing God’s people awaken to Him through His Word through the disciplines of Biblical Theology, Hermeneutics, and Theology.

The Biblical Theology Podcast seeks to bring the Great Tradition into conversation with Biblical Theology. Throughout much of modern biblical studies, interpreters have often approached the text irrespective of the church universal. We aim to help Biblical Theology retrieve the hermeneutic of the Great Tradition.

In this way, we’ll labor over the biblical text while drawing from the great theological storehouses and enduring theological works of the past. We’ll place Greek parsing and ancient commentaries next to each other because we believe that the disciplines of Biblical Studies and Theology ought not be siloed but serve one another.

In the Biblical Theology Podcast, we’ll discuss the impact of significant interpreters of Scripture through the ages and their influence on the Church, historic doctrines, and the history of interpretation.
