Anselm House
Dr. Barrett is also the director of Anselm House, a nine month residency. In the scholastic spirit of faith seeking understanding, Anselm Fellows are devoted to a common rule of life together. They gather for evening prayer, a meal together where they build friendships and are formed by virtue, and read a classical text out loud to participate in Socratic dialogue, all with the aim of contemplating God. Their Socratic dialogue oscillates around their reading of the Great Tradition. Anselm House is classical, Thomistic, and Anglican, and in these ways Anselm House is truly unique.
Anselm Fellows believe classical theology is a spiritual exercise, so they dedicate themselves to the Daily Office, serve at morning prayer, and participate in the liturgy at St. Aidan's Anglican Church in Kansas City. As a result, Anselm Fellows receive course credit towards a degree at Trinity Anglican Seminary. Anselm House is now taking applications.
