Run to Win the Prize

Thomas Schreiner (one of our bloggers here at Credo) has written two books on the doctrine of perseverance. The first book is co-authored with Ardel Caneday (another Credo blogger) and is titled, The Race Set Before Us: A Biblical Theology of Perseverance and Assurance. The second book is titled, Run to Win the Prize. Both of these are excellent volumes. If you have not read either of them we encourage you to do so. In short, Schreiner argues that the warnings in Scripture are addressed to real Christians and are meant to be means of perseverance. Back in 2008 Schreiner gave a series of lectures on the topic at Oak Hill College. Just recently, however, he gave a series of lectures on the topic at Clifton Baptist Church, where he is preaching pastor.
