Credo’s Cache

Each week we will be highlighting important resources. Check back each Friday to see what we have dug up for you. From this week’s cache:

Gospel-Centered Discipleship Ebook Sale: By Various Authors – Check out some of the great resources that Gospel-Centered Discipleship has to offer. There is still time to buy some of the very affordable ebooks that are on sale this week.

The Atheist’s Guide to Reality: By James N. Anderson – Anderson keenly notes: “Christian philosophers have been developing and refining arguments for the existence of God since the earliest times, but it’s not often one comes across a convinced atheist making a powerful philosophical case for the existence of God. Yet that’s precisely what we find—quite contrary to the author’s intent—in Alex Rosenberg’s book The Atheist’s Guide to Reality.”

A Prayer and Plea for Egypt on the Brink of Civil War: By Michael Milton – With everything that is happening in Egypt, Christians need to be in continuous prayer for our brothers and sisters in Christ. This is an excellent prayer offered by Dr. Milton.

Is Christianity Rational?: By R.C. Sproul – Sproul notes: “I can’t understand, for example, how a person can have a divine nature and a human nature at the same time, which is what we believe about Jesus. That’s a mystery—but mysterious is not the same as irrational.”

When Scholarly Skepticism Encounters Jesus Christ: By Darrell Bock – This is the best review that I have read so far on Reza Aslan’s controversial book, Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth.  Bock points out that: “It’s not at all clear, however, that Aslan understands the history of Jesus better than the Gospel writers did. It’s not even clear that the scholarly consensus he claims to represent stacks up on his side of the debate.”

Matt Manry is the Director of Discipleship at Life Bible Church in Canton, Georgia. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Religion at Reformed Theological Seminary and a Masters of Arts in Christian and Classical Studies from Knox Theological Seminary. He blogs regularly at gospelglory.net.
