Interview with John Woodbridge on the History of Biblical Authority

The Forum of Christian Leaders recently interviewed John Woodbridge, Professor of Church History at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, about the nature of biblical authority and its history. Woodbridge is one of the leading historians of our day and his book, Biblical Authority: Infallibility and Inerrancy in the Christian Tradition, is one of the best books to this day correcting misinterpretations of biblical authority in the history of the church. Dr. Woodbridge is also a committed Cubs fan and in this interview he shares some of his love for baseball!

Here is a short description of the interview:

How the Bible has been viewed has shaped both church history and history in general. Dirk Jongkind, Research Fellow at Tyndale House, Cambridge, conducts an extended interview of Dr. John Woodbridge, Research Professor at Trinity Evanelical Divinity School, who has spent a good portion of his career studying the history of biblical authority. They examine the roots of the modern higher critical method of the Bible and discuss various challenges to the Bible’s authority as well as the contrast between Catholic and Evangelical views of Scripture and the significance of “sola scriptura”.
