CCT Scholastic Award 2024
Each year the Center for Classical Theology offers a Scholastic Award. Last year the winner was Matt Pitts who won the competition for his paper on the beatific vision.
In the spirit of Protestant Scholastics such as Francis Turretin, Peter van Mastricht, and John Owen, candidates for the Scholastic Award will follow the format of the Summa Theologiae by Thomas Aquinas and submit a disputed theological question.
That question is followed by an answer designed “to lead listeners into the truth they strive to understand” (Aquinas). An excellent answer will exhibit precision to advance theological clarity, fidelity, and beauty.
Award
The winner will be published in The Journal of Classical Theology (you can read last year’s winner here). Also, Crossway publishing will award the winner with The Works of John Owen to date, as well as Stephen Charnock. The winner will be announced to the public at the Annual Lecture in November and the winner’s submission will be available for attendees.
Due Date
October 1, 2024 is the due date. You can submit your entry to Timothy Gatewood: [email protected]
