Leland Ryken is Professor of English Emeritus at Wheaton College where he has served for over fifty years. He is the author of three dozen books, including A Christian Guide to the Classics, Literary Introductions to the Books of the Bible, The Legacy of the King James Bible, The ESV and the English Bible Legacy, Choosing a Bible, The Word of God in English, Translating Truth, and Understanding English Bible Translation. His forthcoming publications include The Soul in Paraphrase: A Treasury of Classic Devotional Poems (Crossway, 2018) and an anthology of hymns titled 40 Favorite Hymns on the Christian Life, scheduled for publication by Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing in February 2019.
