Our understanding of eschatology is a bellwether of the state of our souls. If we look forward to all the things Christ can give us and not to Christ himself, we have a Christ big enough to deliver all the goods we long for but not so beautiful as to be the good for which we look and hope. In this Credo conference message, Michael Allen reminds us that Christ is not a means to gain things—he is the end of all things. We seek peace, beauty, and the good. In a word, we seek glory. And it is not merely that glory dwells in Immanuel’s Land, but that the Lamb is all the glory of Immanuel’s Land.
